About the Department

The Chandler Police Department (CPD) employs over 320 sworn officers and 150 civilians. CPD serves a growing population of over 250,000 residents. There are three police stations to meet the needs of the community, the Chandler Police Department Main Station, Desert Breeze Substation and Chandler Heights Substation. The organization is divided into two divisions that are categorized by duty functions. The divisions are Field Operations and Professional Services and both adhere to the chain of command. Each division is divided into teams, sections, bureaus and/or units.

Organization Chart

The Field Operations Division is composed of Field Operations Administration, Patrol, Media Relations, Emergency Operations, Park Rangers, Impound Unit and Community Resources & Training Section.  Field Operations includes all functions out in the field such as Patrol Teams, Canines, Traffic Unit, and Bicycle patrol. The Professional Services Division includes the Communications, Forensic Services, Planning and Research, Support Services, and Technology Sections along with the Criminal Investigations Bureau with corresponding Persons, Property and Special Investigations Sections.
