Chandler police officers teach the D.A.R.E. curriculum in all of the Chandler and Kyrene District schools and two private schools located in the Chandler City limits. With six uniformed officers providing instruction at 36 schools, Chandler is the only city in Arizona providing D.A.R.E. lessons to ALL of its elementary, middle, and high school students.

New to the community is the D.A.R.E. Parent Program that is now being taught at selected sites in both the Chandler and Kyrene districts. This six-week course involves parents in interactive training geared toward showing them how to support and supplement the training received by their children.

The use of experienced trainers to teach new officers the basics of D.A.R.E. has long been the accepted format for bringing additional instructors into the D.A.R.E. cadre. Four CPD officers serve as mentors and D.A.R.E. trainers with D.A.R.E. America.
