Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is against the law. The responding police officer, depending on the circumstances involved, may make a formal police report, submit the case to a prosecutor for charges, make an arrest, seize a firearm, arrange and serve an Emergency Order of Protection (good until 5 pm the next business day), or call AR288 Crisis Response to the scene.

If you are a victim of domestic violence, you may seek an Order of Protection from any court. If you are in the process of a legal separation or dissolution of marriage, you must apply to the Clerk of the Superior Court for an Order of Protection.

For assistance in obtaining an Order of Protection, please call Victim Services at (480) 782-4535.
