Fleeing Suspects Arrested

CHANDLER, AZ. On May 13, 2008 at approximately 11:23 pm, patrol officers were dispatched to a fight call at Chandler Blvd. and Exeter Street. Several victims were found lying in the street and the suspects fled the area when police arrived. Two of the victims were injured and ultimately transported to the hospital. The suspect vehicle was quickly located as the suspects attempted to flee the area. Multiple attempts were made to stop stick the vehicle but were unsuccessful. The suspect vehicle made it's way through several Chandler neighborhoods before getting on the 101 northbound. Mesa's air unit responded and took over the pursuit in the area of US 60 and the 101. Chandler patrol units terminated the pursuit and followed from a safe distance.
Eventually the vehicle came to a stop in the area of Elaina and Wood in Phoenix. One suspect was apprehended immediately. The air unit followed the other two suspects as they crossed through several yards and onto the back patio of a residence located at 2620 E Southgate.
Phoenix PD and DPS arrived on-scene to assist with the search. The residents of 2620 E Southgate exited their residence and stated the two suspects were inside and were associates of their nephew. The suspects did not respond to verbal commands to come out of the residence. DPS Swat was contacted and responded to the scene and made entry into the house and took the two suspects into custody without incident. One suspect is still outstanding.
Thirty year-old Mario O. Ochoa, thirty-six year-old Manuel M. Ortiz and twenty- seven year-old Robert C. Medina all residents of Phoenix were arrested. They are being charged with two counts of armed robbery, four counts of kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault.
